Top Chef  Korean Food Challenge

A Taste of Korea was held at the San Diego Wine and Culinary Center on September 25, 2010, in celebration of the Korean Chuseok Holiday. This is an exclusive korean event in San Diego, co-hosted by the Korean Cultural Center in Los Angeles and Korean celebrity chef Cathlyn Choi star of Cathlyns Korean Kitchen the only Korean cooking show in English on TV.

Chuseok is a major holiday in Korea and is celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar as a celebration of the good harvest; similar to Thanksgiving. Koreans celebrate a three day feast of traditional food and games with family and friends. A Taste of Korea featured the traditional Korean food, dance, music and culture during this holiday.

A special Korean food challenge contest was taped from 4-6pm for air on Season 3 of Cathlyns Korean Food Challenge. 150 attendees watched as 6 international chefs  were challenged to make traditional Korean foods. They were judged on originality, taste and presentation by a distinguished panel of judges for cash prizes!
